- I was a Hematologist and worked at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal from 1981 until I fully retired in 2014. In 2005 I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, and in 2010 I had to relinquish most of my administrative responsibilities at the hospital, due to progressive disability from Parkinson's disease, and arrange for alternative follow up for my patients. I stopped providing clinical care in 2014. I stay as active as I can, doing tai chi dancing, singing, painting, and writing to maintain my mobility and keep my brain active. I prepare a summary of a medical area related to Parkinson's disease for my support group each month, and will publish essays here based on these reviews. These essays are intended to help readers make informed decisions about their health and the health of their loved ones.
